The agency A20 Entertainment announced on July 1 that the group A2O MAY has set a new record on the US Mediabase TOP 40 chart.
As of June 29 (local time), A2O MAY entered the US mainstream radio chart Mediabase TOP 40 at No. 35 with their new song "BOSS." This marks their second entry on the chart, following their debut song "Under My Skin (A2O)," which reached No. 39. It is the first time that a girl group composed entirely of Chinese members has entered the Mediabase TOP 40 chart with two consecutive songs.
The Mediabase TOP 40 chart is compiled based on broadcast data from more than 180 major radio stations in the United States and Canada. It is also used in calculating the Radio Songs ranking for the Billboard HOT 100.
"BOSS" has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube and reached No. 1 on the QQ Music new song chart in China. Recently, the group also performed on the Chinese state broadcaster CCTV’s music program "China Music TOP Chart."
Under the direction of producer Lee Sooman, A2O MAY pursues a new genre called "Zalpha Pop," which blends the sensibilities of Generation Z and Generation Alpha. In May, they also participated in the US 102.7 KIIS FM "Wango Tango" festival, sharing the stage with artists such as Doja Cat, David Guetta, Meghan Trainor, and Gwen Stefani.
