Participate in ESG Practices by Reading the Report
QR Donation Campaign Continues for Three Consecutive Years
On July 1, Lotte Fine Chemical announced the publication of its "2024 Sustainability Management Report," which details its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management achievements, alongside the launch of its Sustainability Management QR Donation Campaign.
Since 2023, Lotte Fine Chemical has continued its Sustainability Management Report QR Donation Campaign for the third consecutive year, the first of its kind in Korea. Anyone who scans the QR code in the Lotte Fine Chemical Sustainability Management Report generates a donation, which Lotte Fine Chemical uses for earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar. In 2023, donations were used for earthquake relief in T?rkiye, and last year, funds were allocated to tree-planting activities in areas affected by desertification in Mongolia.
This year's report highlights ESG achievements such as greenhouse gas reduction through the adoption of renewable energy (Environment, E), the establishment of Ulsan's first smart nursery for forest restoration in the Yeongnam region (Social, S), and the acquisition of ISO 37001 and 37301 certifications for anti-corruption and compliance management systems (Governance, G). In addition, the company expanded stakeholder engagement to conduct a double materiality assessment, and based on the results, established and is implementing response plans for eight key material issues.
Lotte Fine Chemical has proactively published its sustainability management report since 2016 to strengthen ESG management. The company has transparently and efficiently disclosed its ESG performance, winning the Grand Award at the 2023 ARC Awards in the United States, the world's most prestigious report competition, and the Gold Award last year.
Based on these efforts, the company has received top-tier ratings in both domestic and international ESG evaluations. Notable results include a comprehensive A rating from the Korea ESG Standards Institute last year, an A rating from Sustinvest this year, an A rating from Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), and a Platinum rating (top 1% level) from EcoVadis.
Jung Seungwon, CEO of Lotte Fine Chemical, stated, "Since 2016, we have led the industry by publishing sustainability management reports, and in 2023, we became the first in the industry to launch a Sustainability Management Report QR Donation Campaign. We are committed to transparent and efficient disclosure of our ESG performance." He added, "These efforts have been recognized through awards at international report competitions and improved ESG ratings in Korea and abroad. We will continue to strengthen our commitment to sustainable management going forward."
