DeepX, a specialized artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor company, has strengthened its domestic AI chip market strategy by appointing Sangkyun Kang, recognized as a 'sales veteran' in the system semiconductor industry, as the head of domestic sales.
Previously, DeepX appointed Jaedoo Jun, who served as a director at NXP's US headquarters, as the head of its US operations. In the European market, sales expert Amir Sherman, who managed major brands such as Renesas and NXP at Arrow, the world's leading global system semiconductor distributor, has joined the team.

On June 30, DeepX announced the addition of Sangkyun Kang, stating that the company is in the process of building a team composed of leading global system semiconductor sales experts. Kang is a system semiconductor sales specialist with over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development at global semiconductor companies such as Texas Instruments (TI), Onsemi, and TE Connectivity.
While at Onsemi, Kang collaborated with major clients including LG Electronics, Hyundai Mobis, and Mando in the domestic mass production market for industrial infrastructure, vision systems, and the automotive industry, driving significant sales growth. During his tenure at TI, he led the automotive electronics and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) business, securing a stable revenue structure of over $500 million from clients such as Continental, Bosch, Hyundai, and LG.
Sangkyun Kang stated, "Through various domestic and international industry exhibitions, I have directly witnessed DeepX's technological prowess in ultra-low-power on-device AI semiconductors and the trust it has built with global partners," adding, "Unlike traditional digital semiconductors, the AI semiconductor market is focused on solving real customer problems. I will strengthen partnerships with diverse domestic industry clients to clearly demonstrate DeepX's value."
DeepX is a fabless AI chip company recognized for its competitiveness in the global market, based on its proprietary technology and production capabilities. Notably, the company has received multiple international technology awards for its ultra-low-power AI semiconductor technology, and holds more foundational technology patents related to neural processing units (NPUs) than ARM, Qualcomm, or Intel. DeepX has also secured mass production capabilities with a yield rate approaching 90% based on Samsung Electronics Foundry's 5-nanometer process.
DeepX believes that placing a 'global sales expert team' at the core of its strategy is essential. The company aims to rapidly penetrate the market and achieve substantial sales growth.
Kim Nokwon, CEO, stated, "Our goal is to continue recruiting sales executives from major global system semiconductor and distribution companies, creating what is referred to as an 'Avengers team' in the sales sector," adding, "Connections with various experts we have met at global exhibitions are leading to new collaborations and additions to the team."
