Expansion of Sales from Department Stores to Membership-Based Discount Stores
Ayung FBC announced on July 1 that it has released a limited quantity of the champagne 'Piper-Heidsieck Red Edition.'
The 'Red Edition' is a special release that applies a limited-edition bottle design while maintaining the quality and authenticity of Piper-Heidsieck's flagship product, 'Cuvee Brut.' The striking contrast between the bold red color of the bottle and the gold-engraved 'PIPER HEIDSIECK' lettering is impressive, and its sophisticated appearance makes it highly collectible. It is available at major department stores nationwide as well as membership-based discount stores, with a price point in the 70,000 won range.
Founded in 1785, the champagne house Piper-Heidsieck was established by its founder Florens-Louis Heidsieck, who aspired to "create a special champagne for the queen." The brand soon gained recognition for its quality and reputation among European royalty and aristocrats. Additionally, actress Marilyn Monroe famously said, "I go to bed wearing only Chanel No. 5 and start my morning with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck," earning the champagne the nickname 'Marilyn Monroe Champagne.'
Piper-Heidsieck Red Edition is made by blending 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. It features the signature bright gold color of Cuvee Brut and continuously releases delicate bubbles. The aroma includes notes of Western pear and red apple, along with refreshing citrus scents such as grapefruit and orange. With the inclusion of Pinot Noir, it is a full-bodied champagne that delicately fills the palate. The alcohol content is 12%.
An Ayung FBC representative stated, "This Red Edition will be sold not only in department stores but also simultaneously in membership-based discount stores such as Costco," adding, "We expect that securing both reasonable pricing and accessibility will help expand the base of the premium champagne market."
