Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for the 'Export Merit Award' and 'Export Frontier Company Certification' programs until September 5.
The purpose of this recruitment is to discover local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have achieved outstanding export results, as well as early-stage exporters that are just beginning to enter the export market, in order to actively support their expansion into overseas markets.
Gyeonggi Province plans to enhance the global competitiveness of local SMEs by sharing exemplary export cases and expanding exchange and cooperation among companies.
The Export Merit Award is divided into three categories: export promotion, export innovation, and exchange and cooperation. A total of approximately 70 companies will be selected, including 15 companies for the Gyeonggi Governor's Award and others for the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Minister of SMEs and Startups Awards.
For the Export Frontier Company Certification, 80 SMEs in the province that achieved their first export performance between July 2022 and June this year and demonstrated strong export competitiveness will be selected and certified. In particular, five companies with the highest export performance in the five fields of information technology (IT), machinery and materials parts, consumer goods, beauty, and medical and bio will be named 'Export Rookie of the Year.'
Certified Export Frontier Companies will receive benefits such as three additional points when participating in the province's overseas marketing support programs?including trade missions and export opportunity vouchers?for three years, as well as preferential credit guarantees from the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation.
Gyeonggi Province will conduct document screening and a review committee for companies that apply by September 5, and will select the final companies in November.
The selected companies and awardees will be recognized at the 'Gyeonggi Export Entrepreneurs Day' in December, and their exemplary cases will be shared to strengthen export capabilities and pride.
Park Kyungseo, Director of International Trade at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This recruitment aims to discover local SMEs that have achieved export results despite challenging trade conditions and to enhance their global competitiveness. We look forward to the active participation of SMEs with outstanding growth potential."
