On June 30, marking the third anniversary of his inauguration as the 8th popularly elected governor, Lee Sungul, Ulju County Governor, visited a year-round strawberry smart farm located in Sayeon-ri, Beomseo-eup, Ulju County.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the achievements of smart agriculture on site and to listen to the difficulties faced by young farmers.
Ulju County has been promoting the spread of smart farms to help young farmers settle stably, and has supported advanced equipment and technology as well as provided consulting on permits and licensing.
The farm visited on this day established a year-round strawberry smart farm using a vertical farming method last year with support from the county. In particular, by utilizing an ICT-based automated system, the farm succeeded in producing strawberries intensively during the summer, making it a notable example that symbolizes the competitiveness of smart agriculture in Ulju County.
Since this year, the farm has also succeeded in vertical cultivation of the domestic premium strawberry variety 'Kingsberry,' earning recognition for securing a leading position in the high value-added agricultural product market.
Governor Lee stated, "The Ulju-style smart farm model, led by young farmers, is opening the future of agriculture," and added, "We will actively support Ulju County to become a leading local government in the digital transformation of agriculture."
