Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on June 30 that it held the "2025 2nd Quarter Goyang Special City Integrated Defense Council" at the Baekseok Annex on the 27th to establish an integrated defense posture.

A total of 21 members attended the Integrated Defense Council, including Goyang City National Security Policy Advisory Committee members, the Army 9th Division, the 60th Division, the 30th Armored Brigade, the 301st Security Regiment, Goyang Police Station, Ilsandong and Ilsanseobu Police Stations, Goyang Fire Station, and Ilsan Fire Station.

On this day, in order to strengthen the region's security capabilities, Goyang City revised and updated its Integrated Defense Regulations and held a "Joint Signing Ceremony for the Integrated Defense Regulations." In addition, commendations were awarded to military, police, and fire service officials who contributed to the revision of the Goyang City Integrated Defense Regulations.

Afterwards, in response to the rapidly changing security environment, a security situation report was presented and the 2025 Ulji Exercise plan was announced, confirming the city's practical and systematic response capabilities to protect citizens' safety.

Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, stated, "Thorough preparation and close cooperation among the military, police, and fire departments are essential to safeguard national and local security," adding, "Based on the Integrated Defense Regulations signed today, we will work closely with each agency to create a Goyang City where citizens can feel safe."

Meanwhile, on the same day, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with relevant organizations, including military units, to utilize the Integrated Control Center functions. Discussions were held on establishing a foundation for rapid information sharing and joint response through an organic cooperation system in the event of a crisis.

The Goyang City Integrated Defense Council is held quarterly to discuss support for integrated defense operations and training, efficient management of national defense elements, and emergency response measures.
