The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education announced that it successfully held a comprehensive awards ceremony on the afternoon of June 30 in Asan City to honor student athletes who achieved outstanding results and won medals at the 19th National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities, which took place over four days from May 13 to 16 in various locations across Gyeongsangnam-do.

The awards ceremony for the National Sports Festival for Students with Disabilities was attended by more than 300 people, including Kim Jicheol, Superintendent of Education for Chungnam, city and county education chiefs, award-winning students, supervising teachers, managers, and coaches, who gathered to celebrate the valuable achievements of the Chungnam team.

The Chungnam team consisted of a total of 432 members, including 150 athletes, 108 supervising teachers, and 174 managers and coaches. They competed in 11 events, winning a total of 126 medals: 45 gold, 50 silver, and 31 bronze. With these results, the team secured third place overall for the fourth consecutive year.

In particular, the team achieved first place overall in athletics for the tenth consecutive year and won the disc golf event for the fifth consecutive time. The rowing team also improved its performance compared to last year, finishing second overall, demonstrating steady growth across the board.

Additionally, the team won medals in every event they entered, including basketball, weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, and swimming, showcasing consistent performance. Nine athletes became multiple medalists, once again proving the strength of the Chungnam team.

Superintendent Kim Jicheol stated, "The Chungnam team demonstrated values that go beyond simple competition. Their challenges, in which they overcame their own limitations and surpassed themselves, deeply moved and inspired all of us." He added, "These achievements were made possible not only by the athletes' relentless efforts, but also thanks to the dedicated support of supervising teachers, managers, coaches, and parents."
