The meeting was attended by representatives from Nabiya Socks and its partner companies, where a variety of current issues were discussed, including water supply, stabilization of employment for foreign workers, response to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and operation of training programs for technology transfer in sock manufacturing.
Mayor Suhyun Kang stated, "We will actively review the water supply issue by securing provincial funding," and emphasized, "Regarding the demand for institutional improvements for the stabilization of foreign workers' employment, we must prioritize the basic rights and right to life of workers in accordance with the trends of the times." She also stressed the importance of improving the treatment of foreign workers, as well as the need for employers to thoroughly implement safety regulations to prevent industrial accidents.
She added, "I deeply empathize with the difficulties faced by small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, such as labor shortages, regulatory burdens, and the disruption of technology transfer, and the city will also seek practical support measures."
Meanwhile, Yangju City continues to maintain ongoing on-site communication to reflect the voices of businesses in municipal administration, and plans to expand customized support policies to strengthen the competitiveness of local industries.
