Decision Made at Lawmakers' General Meeting on the 30th...
Concurrent Roles Until Party Convention
Non-Lawmaker Emergency Committee Members: Park Jin-ho and Hong Hyeongseon, Party Chapter Heads
Song Eonseok, floor leader of the People Power Party, will serve concurrently as the emergency committee chairperson starting from July 1 until the party convention.
After holding a general meeting of lawmakers at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 30th, Song met with reporters and said, "Today marks the end of Kim Yongtae's term as emergency committee chairperson," and added, "Starting tomorrow, I, as the floor leader, will temporarily take on the role of committee chairperson to form the party's highest decision-making body."

He went on to explain, "Tomorrow, we will form the emergency committee through the standing national committee and the national committee."
Song stated, "The emergency committee will be a temporary decision-making body until a new party leadership is elected through the party convention. Although the short period limits the scope of activities, I emphasized that it should become a decision-making body that can fundamentally reform itself, fight, engage in struggle, and present alternatives as a renewed opposition party."
He added, "There were no opposing opinions," and "Many lawmakers agreed."
It has been reported that the following lawmakers have been nominated as emergency committee members: Park Deokheum, a four-term lawmaker representing Boeun, Okcheon, Yeongdong, and Goesan counties in North Chungcheong Province; Cho Eunhee, a two-term lawmaker representing Seocho-gu Gap in Seoul; and Kim Daesik, a first-term lawmaker representing Sasang-gu in Busan.
The remaining two emergency committee members are figures from outside the National Assembly: Park Jin-ho, the party chapter head for Gimpo-gap, and Hong Hyeongseon, the party chapter head for Hwaseong-gap.
Park Jin-ho, born in 1990, has been nominated as a young party chapter head who is not a sitting lawmaker, which is interpreted as an effort to form a balanced emergency committee.
