On June 30, Gokseong County (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced that it had operated the "Visiting Rural Home-Visit Bus" for local seniors in cooperation with Seokgok Nonghyup at the Seokgok-myeon Community Center on the 29th.
The "Visiting Rural Home-Visit Bus" is a medical service program designed to help seniors in rural areas with limited transportation, who have difficulty visiting hospitals, to receive medical care conveniently nearby. The event was held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the same day, and over 400 farmers aged 60 and above residing in Seokgok-myeon, Moksadong-myeon, and Jukgok-myeon received medical treatment.
Medical support was provided by four institutions: Gwangju Wonkwang University Korean Medicine Hospital, Gwangju Central Yoon Giljung Ophthalmology Clinic, Gwangju Heart Dental Clinic, and the Korean Medical Volunteer Association. The medical staff offered comprehensive services, including Western and Korean medicine consultations, acupuncture, treatment for musculoskeletal disorders, prescriptions for nutritional supplements, vision tests and eye examinations, oral examinations, and oral health education.
An official from the county said, "We are grateful for the dedication of the medical staff and volunteers," and added, "We will continue our efforts to ensure the ongoing operation of the Rural Home-Visit Bus program to promote the health and improve the quality of life for local seniors."
