Local Currency Awarded for Achieving 4,000 Mileage Points
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province will operate the '3UP Health Walking Challenge' with special measures for two months in July and August, allowing residents to continue participating safely even during the summer heat.
The '3UP Health Walking Challenge' is Osan City's flagship health promotion program, designed to encourage citizens to walk regularly in their daily lives under the slogan 'Walking UP, Health UP, Happiness UP.' The program utilizes the mobile walking app 'WalkOn' to support this initiative.
The city will temporarily ease the walking mission requirements for the two months of July and August, when the heat is at its peak. The previous requirements of ▲achieving 8,000 steps per day for 25 days or 10,000 steps per day for 20 days to earn 5,000 mileage points have been lowered to ▲6,000 steps per day for 27 days or 10,000 steps per day for 16 days. Participants who accumulate a total of 4,000 mileage points will receive 5,000 won in local currency.
Participation is simple. After installing the WalkOn app and signing up, users can join Osan City's 'Today's Walk' community. However, issuing local currency is mandatory to receive incentives. For more details, contact the Health Promotion Center at Osan City Public Health Center.
