"Ministry of Employment and Labor and KOSHA Win-Win Cooperation Project"
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) held a 'Safety and Health Cooperation Council Meeting' at its headquarters on June 27, with safety managers from six companies located in the New Port hinterland complex in attendance.
This meeting was organized to assess the current state of on-site safety management through cooperation with tenant companies and to explore practical support measures. Various topics were discussed at the meeting, including inspection of hazardous risk factors, operation of joint training programs, strengthening support for risk assessment, and establishing an information-sharing system to prevent safety accidents.
The participants shared the difficulties that small and medium-sized enterprises face in safety management due to a lack of personnel and budget, and agreed on the need to develop realistic improvement measures.
Busan Port Authority plans to continue operating the council on a regular basis, starting with this meeting, and to strengthen communication with tenant companies in order to create a safe and healthy industrial ecosystem within the port.
President Song Sangkeun stated, "Safety and health are key factors that determine a company's sustainability and competitiveness," adding, "As a public institution, we will fulfill our responsibility to achieve mutual growth with tenant companies." He also emphasized, "We will actively review the suggestions made on-site and strive to ensure they lead to practical improvements."
