Youth Warak is a program designed not only to help young people interested in music develop their musical abilities through professional education, but also to foster empathy and exchange by building a community among youth and strengthening communication with the local community.
The orientation was attended by approximately 50 young participants in the program and included an introduction to the project, an introduction of the instructors, a celebratory performance, and a sharing of the activity schedule.
In addition, the participants were able to break the ice, strengthen their sense of unity and solidarity toward their shared goals, and spend meaningful time together through this gathering.
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "Youth Warak will become a platform that goes beyond simple music education, enabling young people to share healing and empathy through music and grow together with the community," and added, "We will continue to provide our full support and attention so that young people can develop their abilities, communicate, and interact with one another."
Youth Warak, which means 'the joy of music that youth come to enjoy,' will offer drum, vocal, and acoustic guitar classes, each operating in both weekday and weekend sessions. The program will run for 12 weeks from July to October. Young people who complete Youth Warak will also be given opportunities to gain stage experience in connection with local festivals in the future.
