Targeting Pregnant Women, Dual-Income, and Multi-Child Households
with Incomes at or Below 150% of the Median
On June 30, 2025, Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced the launch of the "Gyeonggi Housework Support Service" as a new pilot project designed to reduce the burden of housework and help residents achieve a better work-life balance.
This project, newly introduced by Gyeonggi Province to create a childbirth- and child-rearing-friendly environment, will be implemented for about six months until December 2025.
The program targets 60 households within the city whose income is at or below 150% of the median income, including pregnant women, dual-income families, and families with multiple children. Selected households will receive a total of 15 visits, with each visit lasting four hours, during which a housework assistant will directly visit the home to provide basic household services such as cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, and garbage disposal. However, cooking, childcare, pet care, and move-in cleaning are excluded from the support services.
The city will begin accepting applications for the program on a first-come, first-served basis starting June 30, 2025. Interested households can apply by email, fax, or in person at the Ansan Women’s New Work Center, which is the implementing agency for the project.
