Cho Kuk, the former leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party who is currently imprisoned on charges including obstruction of business and abuse of authority, has once again sent a letter from prison. He argued that, for the Lee Jaemyung administration to succeed in prosecutorial reform, it must hold politically motivated prosecutors who abused their power, as well as prosecutors who are resisting prosecutorial reform, accountable for their actions.

On June 29, Hwang Hyunseon, Secretary General of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, disclosed the contents of Cho's letter on his Facebook page. Cho Kuk is currently serving a prison sentence after the Supreme Court confirmed a two-year sentence in December last year for charges including 'child admission corruption' and 'cover-up of Blue House inspection,' resulting in the loss of his parliamentary seat.

Cho Kuk stated, "Former President Yoon Sukyeol was the head of prosecutorial dictatorship before he became the ringleader of a rebellion that destroyed democratic constitutional order. During his tenure as Prosecutor General, he abused prosecutorial power to block prosecutorial reform, and after becoming President, he used the prosecution as a tool of domination."

He continued, "In this process, many political prosecutors volunteered to play the role of loyal dogs for 'our Prosecutor General' and 'the President of the organization.' However, despite a change of administration, these individuals still possess the 'sword' of power."

Regarding Prosecutor General Sim Ujeong, Cho Kuk added, "He is the one who ordered the withdrawal of the appeal against Judge Ji Guyoun's decision to release former President Yoon Sukyeol, thus enabling his release. He is also the person who spoke with Kim Juhyun, Senior Presidential Secretary for Civil Affairs, using the secret phone provided by former President Yoon."

In conclusion, Cho Kuk emphasized, "I hope the Lee Jaemyung administration will continue the achievements of legal and prosecutorial reforms accomplished under the Moon Jaein administration and overcome their limitations. To achieve this, it is essential to hold politically motivated prosecutors who abused prosecutorial power, as well as prosecutors who are systematically resisting prosecutorial reform, accountable for their actions."
