On June 30, Yongin City announced that it will invest a budget of 405 million won to implement a management stability support project for beekeeping farms, aiming to protect the beekeeping industry and create a sustainable beekeeping environment.

To this end, the city selected 85 farms as beneficiaries of the project this year and has already provided 86 million won in support funds. The remaining budget will be distributed sequentially by the end of the year.

The main areas of support include planting nectar plants and providing materials necessary for beekeeping, such as pollen. In the first half of the year, the city supported two farms by providing 50 nectar trees, which serve as a food source for honeybees, and plans to provide an additional 160 trees to 10 farms within the year. Earlier, on Arbor Day this year, the city also collaborated with the private sector to plant 400 wild cherry trees near beekeeping farms.

Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "We will actively support the further development of the beekeeping industry in Yongin," adding, "We will continue to invest in the budget to promote honeybee population growth and environmental conservation."
