Applications are now open for participants in the second half of the year events of Sejong Connection (from dating to marriage in Sejong), a program that supports meetings between single men and women.

According to Sejong City on June 30, the event for single men and women who either reside or work in the area has been organized to provide opportunities for interaction and communication. During the first half of this year, 597 people applied for 80 available spots, demonstrating strong interest and enthusiasm among single men and women. For the second half of the year, the city plans to double the scale of the event, recruiting 160 participants and hosting a total of four events.

In the second half of the year, Sejong City will continue to collaborate with the Sejong Youth Center to provide support counselors who will help participants manage concerns or conflicts that may arise during the meeting process, as well as offer one-stop guidance on step-by-step policies related to marriage preparation. To revitalize local commercial districts, the event venues will utilize idle spaces such as cafes and cultural facilities, and the spaces will be arranged to create a comfortable atmosphere that allows participants to focus on conversations with each other.

The second half events are scheduled for August 30, September 20, October 18, and October 25. A total of 160 participants?40 single men and 40 single women for each event?who are at least 25 years old (born in 2000 or earlier) and either reside or work in the area will be recruited. For further inquiries, please contact the Population, Women and Family Division.

Lee Youngok, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau, stated, "Reflecting the enthusiastic response from young people to the first half events, we aim to provide even more single men and women with opportunities to meet in the second half of the year," adding, "We hope many citizens will show interest in and participate in this event, which offers a chance to interact with peers of the opposite sex."
