"It's Okay to Fail in Employment or Startups!"... Gyeonggi Province Recruiting Participants for Retry School

Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Promotion Agency will begin recruiting participants for the 3rd and 4th sessions of the "Gyeonggi Retry School" simultaneously starting July 1, 2025.

The Gyeonggi Retry School is an educational program designed to help individuals overcome experiences of failure in employment or entrepreneurship and encourage them to try again. Participants will develop self-recovery and practical skills through healing workshops, job competency training, and the establishment of action plans.

The 3rd session will run from August 25 to August 29, 2025, and the 4th session will run from September 15 to September 19, 2025. Both sessions will include a four-night, five-day program focused on healing and job-related activities. The healing component, which is common to both sessions, will take place over two nights and three days at "Gipeunsan Sok Ongdalsaem" in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do. The remaining two nights and three days of job training will be held separately: the 3rd session at Island Castle Hotel in Uijeongbu, and the 4th session at YBM Training Center in Hwaseong.

The main programs include: ▲psychological recovery for self-discovery ▲job competency enhancement training ▲special lectures by prominent speakers ▲GPT-based AI training ▲vision declaration, among others.

Comedian Ko Myunghwan and writer Ko Dowon will each deliver a special lecture on the themes "How to Challenge Yourself with Excitement for 365 Days" and "Dream Beyond Dream," respectively. In addition, on-site counseling by career consultants from the Gyeonggi Job Foundation and a startup support briefing by the Gyeonggi Market Commercial District Promotion Agency will be provided.

Eligible participants are Gyeonggi residents aged 19 or older who have experienced failure in employment or entrepreneurship, or who are preparing to make a comeback. Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Promotion Agency website (gill.or.kr). Fifty participants per session will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation based on the submitted "Retry Plan."

Kang Hyunseok, Director of the Future Lifelong Education Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The recruitment for the first session of the Retry School saw a competition rate of 7.86 to 1, and the second session recorded a rate of 5.14 to 1, demonstrating high interest." He added, "We aim to help participants turn failure into an asset for growth, rather than leaving it as a scar."
