Win-Win Meeting with Resident Companies of Bomun Complex

The Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Namil Kim) announced that it held the '2025 Q2 Bomun Tourism Complex Resident Companies Win-Win Meeting' at 2 p.m. on June 26 in the corporation's conference room.


This meeting was organized to share key issues and future development directions for the Bomun Tourism Complex ahead of the 2025 APEC Summit, and to strengthen the foundation for mutual cooperation with resident companies.

Approximately 40 people attended the meeting, including representatives from major resident companies within the Bomun Tourism Complex, Gyeongju City and related organizations, the APEC Preparation Support Team, and officials from the public delivery app 'Meokgaebi'.


During the meeting, major projects related to APEC and the Bomun Complex were introduced, such as regular traditional arts performances in connection with APEC, nightscape improvements, upgrades to convenience facilities and restrooms, and the creation of an ESG-participatory Street Garden.


In addition, plans for the Gyeongbuk tourism theme event 'Lucky Seven Gyeongbuk Trip', the development of a pet-friendly tourism city, and the expansion of content at Gyeongju Expo Grand Park were announced. Measures to support commuting during the APEC Summit to address traffic congestion in the Bomun Complex, as well as strategies for utilizing the public delivery app 'Meokgaebi' for foreign guests, were also introduced and drew significant attention.


In particular, the meeting featured an open Q&A and discussion session, where a variety of opinions on the sustainable development of the Bomun Complex were shared. The importance of close communication between resident companies and the corporation was widely recognized.


The corporation stated its intention to continue holding regular win-win meetings to develop the Bomun Tourism Complex into a world-class tourist destination.


Meanwhile, the Bomun Tourism Complex, which marks its 50th anniversary this year, was established in 1975 as Korea's first comprehensive tourism complex. The corporation is taking this opportunity to focus on improving infrastructure and developing new programs to support the successful hosting of the APEC Summit.


President Namil Kim stated, "This year is a meaningful milestone as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bomun Tourism Complex. Various projects are underway to elevate the quality of the complex in connection with the APEC Summit," adding, "Resident companies are key partners in Gyeongbuk tourism, and the corporation will do its utmost to ensure sustainable cooperation and provide substantial support."
