Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on the 27th that it had carried out a "National Heritage Keeper" social contribution activity on the 26th in the Chungjangno area of Donggu, Gwangju, where the region's history and culture come alive.
This activity was organized to promote environmental cleanup in Chungjangno and raise public awareness about the preservation of cultural assets. Executives and employees participated directly, conducting a variety of programs including: ▲ theoretical education on Gwangju’s national heritage ▲ souvenir production and donation activities ▲ plogging activities ▲ visits to long-standing local shops.
Plogging is an environmental movement that involves picking up trash while jogging. Participants collected litter throughout the streets of Chungjangno, taking the lead in improving the city’s appearance and creating a more pleasant pedestrian environment.
During the subsequent visits to long-standing shops, participants revisited the history and significance of traditional stores that have been part of the community for decades, and shared various ideas to revitalize the local alleyway economy.
President Kim Seungnam stated, "It was meaningful to be able to participate in activities that protect and nurture Chungjangno, where the unique identity and cultural heritage of the region are alive." He added, "We will continue to implement various social contribution programs that foster mutual growth with the local community."
