Third Forum Scheduled Next Month, Focusing on Aerospace and Marine Industries

This forum, held under the theme of "Future Mobility," discussed strategies to respond to the rapidly changing industrial environment.
Co-hosted by UNIST and the K-Mobility Cluster Association, the event was attended by over 100 stakeholders from industry, academia, and research institutions. Participants explored the latest technologies and market trends, seeking practical measures for industry-academia collaboration.
The keynote speech was delivered by Choi Chihoon, Executive Director of Hanwha Advanced Materials. Choi introduced "Future Mobility Composite Materials Technology and Global Trends," explaining directions for lightweighting and improving the durability of composite materials. He also shared insights into the competitive landscape and technological advancements in overseas markets.
During the open innovation session, large corporations, mid-sized companies, and startups each presented their technologies and strategies. This was followed by a Q&A and networking session.
President Jongrae Park emphasized, "The mobility industry is a key sector that will drive the region's future growth," and added, "Technological convergence and industry-academia cooperation will be at the center of this progress."
He further stated, "UNIST will make greater efforts to build a collaborative ecosystem to strengthen the competitiveness of local industries."
UNIST plans to make this forum a regular event to strengthen its ties with local industries. The university aims to generate tangible convergence outcomes through technology commercialization, including joint research.

The 3rd UNIST Industry-Academia Convergence Forum will be held on July 21, focusing on "Aerospace and Marine Industries." The event will present concrete collaboration models in these sectors, which are emerging as new growth engines in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (BUK) region.
