This year marks the 39th edition of the J.D. Power IQS, which is regarded as the world's most authoritative quality survey. It tallies quality complaints experienced by customers during the first three months after purchasing a vehicle, presenting the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) as a score. A lower score indicates higher quality satisfaction.

Hyundai Motor Group recorded an average score of 178, the lowest among the 17 global automotive groups. The group received high marks for introducing innovative convenience features and distinctive designs, as well as for its ongoing quality improvement initiatives aimed at customer satisfaction.

Among mainstream brands, Hyundai ranked second with a score of 173, while Kia placed sixth with a score of 181. Genesis ranked third among luxury brands with a score of 183.

In the segment-specific evaluations, the Hyundai Santa Cruz tied for first place in the midsize pickup truck category, winning the award for the second consecutive year. The Kia Telluride was named the top model in the upper midsize SUV category. As a result, two models received the "Best Quality Award."

Additionally, in the IQS plant evaluation, three Hyundai Motor Group factories received awards for manufacturing quality excellence. In the Asia-Pacific region, Hyundai Ulsan Plant 5 and Kia Gwangju Plant 1 tied for second place. In the North and South America region, Kia Mexico (KMX) tied for third place.

The J.D. Power survey results are used as a key indicator for assessing American consumers' car purchasing criteria and quality competitiveness. Based on these results, Hyundai Motor Group expects to further strengthen its competitiveness in the North American market.

A Hyundai Motor Group representative stated, "We are doing our utmost to provide customers with the highest quality and technological excellence," adding, "We will continue to pursue relentless quality innovation to deliver products that exceed customer expectations."
