Damyang County (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on the 26th that it held a meeting with female business leaders belonging to the Jeonnam branch of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association (President Oh Okja) at the Dambit Agricultural Hall on the 25th.

The meeting was organized to listen to the voices of female entrepreneurs who are running businesses despite difficult conditions such as the economic downturn, and to seek policy responses. The participants shared a variety of opinions, not only about the challenges they face in business operations, but also regarding improvements to public procurement contracts and related administrative systems.

Oh Okja, President of the Jeonnam branch, suggested, "Policy support, such as appointing female entrepreneurs to various committees, is needed so that women business leaders can contribute to regional development by utilizing their individual capabilities."

Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "Female entrepreneurs are important players in the local economy and actively contribute to the community through donations and volunteer work," adding, "We will carefully examine the challenges faced by female entrepreneurs in the county and support their business activities."

At the meeting, the event gained further significance as members of the association and Namgyeong Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Jaeim), a female-led company based in Damyang, delivered a Hometown Love Donation, expressing a request for greater interest and support for the voices of local female entrepreneurs.

A county official said, "Based on the opinions shared at this meeting, we will provide policy support so that female-led businesses can grow stably in the region," and added, "We will continue to communicate to realize the 'Vibrant and Dynamic Economy,' which is the economic policy direction of the 8th popularly elected county administration."
