Appointment Ceremony Held on the 25th
Contributing to the Development of the Order and Its Social Role
The Korean Buddhist Taego Order announced on June 26 that it has appointed 20 individuals, including attorney Kim Hyungyeon from Dongin Law Firm, as members of the External Cooperation Advisory Committee.

According to the Taego Order, the appointment ceremony for the new advisory committee members was held on the afternoon of June 25 at the Main Buddha Hall of Beomnyunsa, located on the third floor of the Korean Buddhist Traditional Culture Transmission Center.
The ceremony was conducted in the following order: the Threefold Refuge, the Heart Sutra, introduction of guests, congratulatory and encouraging remarks, presentation of appointment certificates, announcements, and the Four Great Vows. The event was hosted by Director of General Affairs Monk Doseong and officiated by Director of Social Affairs Monk Dohwi.
In his welcoming remarks, President of the General Affairs Office Monk Sangjin stated, "Last year, our order took its first step toward communication and cooperation with various sectors of society by launching the External Cooperation Advisory Committee as a direct body under the President of the General Affairs Office." He added, "The interest and advice provided by the committee members have been instrumental in expanding the order's outreach and in concretizing the public nature and social responsibility of Buddhism."
He continued, "We will work closely with the newly inaugurated government and ensure that our order responds flexibly to the changing times. Now is the time to further strengthen our social role so that we can make a tangible contribution to the lives of the people."
The External Cooperation Advisory Committee aims to contribute to the development of the Taego Order and its social role by providing advice on the order's policies and ongoing projects, as well as participating in policy activities. Going forward, the committee will be responsible for: supporting communication and cooperation with the National Assembly, government, local governments, and public institutions; engaging in external cooperation activities such as recruiting and discovering talent for the order's initiatives; and contributing to and participating in the order's social role activities.
