Pukyong National University Holds 6th Graduation Ceremony for "AI Project Course"

The Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group at Pukyong National University, led by Director Noh Maengseok, held the 6th graduation ceremony for the AI Project Course on June 25 at the Somin Hall in the Mirae Building of Pukyong National University.

At this ceremony, 38 students who completed the educational programs at Pukyong National University and Dong-Eui University received certificates of completion. The event also featured presentations of projects conducted by the participants themselves, as well as an awards ceremony for outstanding students.


The team selected as the best project was composed of Cho Hyunjun (third-year, School of Medicine, Gyeongsang National University), Kim Sangyeop (fourth-year, Department of Display and Semiconductor Engineering, Pukyong National University), Kang Juhyun (second-year master's student, Public Talent and Finance Cooperative Program), Kim Taekyung (graduate, Department of Sports Marketing, Keimyung University), Won Hanna (fourth-year, Department of Law), and Heo Taehyeok (third-year, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dong-Eui University). Their project was titled "AI Wearable Gait Analysis Platform for Fall Prevention and Degenerative Disease Prediction in Vulnerable Pedestrian Groups."


The Pukyong National University President's Award was given to Kim Sangyeop for his achievements in the field of AI-based semiconductors.


The Digital Smart Busan Academy, led by Pukyong National University in collaboration with nine universities and organizations including Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, and Shinsegae I&C Co., Ltd., is being implemented as part of the "University-Enterprise Cooperation SW Academy" project by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation.


The project group aims to nurture specialized software professionals tailored to the needs of local industries. It offers AI-based application development training linked to major industries in Busan, such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and ports. In particular, the academy provides an intensive curriculum totaling 640 hours, including 320 hours of theory and practice and 320 hours of project work, to develop talent that can be immediately deployed in the field.


Director Noh Maengseok stated, "The AI Project Course is a collaborative model in which universities, companies, and the local community work together to foster talent for future industries. We will continue to focus on training practical software professionals with strong adaptability to the workplace, thereby contributing to the development of both the region and the nation."
