Democratic Party Nominates Lee Choonseok for Legislation and Judiciary Chair, Han Byungdo for Budget Committee Chair, Kim Kyoheung for Culture Committee Chair

The Democratic Party's floor leadership on June 26 nominated Lee Choonseok, a four-term lawmaker, as its candidate for the chair of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee.

The Democratic Party's floor leadership also announced via a social networking service (SNS) shared among lawmakers that Lee Choonseok was nominated for the Legislation and Judiciary Committee chair, Han Byungdo, a three-term lawmaker, was nominated for the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts chair, and Kim Kyoheung, also a three-term lawmaker, was nominated for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee chair.

The Democratic Party plans to complete the election of standing committee chairs at a plenary session scheduled for June 27. The party's floor leadership reportedly notified lawmakers, stating, "We ask for your support in the election at tomorrow afternoon's plenary session," and added, "We have requested the National Assembly Speaker to convene the plenary session tomorrow afternoon."
