Gijang County in Busan to Open Ilgwang Ara Park Water Playground on June 28

Convenience Facilities Enhanced with Sunshades and Sunbeds
Outdoor Water Playground Opens at Witgol Park in Jeonggwan

Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) will officially operate the Ilgwang Ara Park Water Playground from June 28 to August 31 to help residents cool off during the summer heat.

Gijang County has completed the refurbishment of Ilgwang Ara Park Water Playground and will open it starting from the 28th.

Located in Samseong-ri, Ilgwang-eup, the Ara Park Water Playground is equipped with two water play combination playgrounds, 21 water play facilities, one shower building, four restroom buildings, a management office, and various other amenities. It is gaining attention as a recreational and play space for families during the summer season.

The facility operates daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with 45-minute water play sessions followed by 15 minutes for environmental maintenance. The playground is closed every Monday for regular inspections and will also suspend operations in the event of rain forecasts or adverse weather conditions for safety reasons.

Gijang County completed water quality inspections prior to opening and has deployed six safety personnel to ensure a safe water play environment. In response to visitor feedback from last year, the county has significantly expanded family-friendly facilities such as sunshades, pergolas, sunbeds, and benches to enhance visitor satisfaction.

Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "I hope residents can enjoy a refreshing summer and create special memories with their families at a nearby water playground," adding, "We will continue to manage the facilities to maintain a safe and pleasant environment."

From June 1 to August 31, Gijang County is also operating a 'garden experience outdoor water playground' at Witgol Park in Jeonggwan-eup. This facility covers an area of 1,170 square meters and features two water slides, two water drops, eight reed fountains, as well as amenities such as changing rooms, a first aid room, and shaded areas.
