Good and Evil in the Musical "Jekyll and Hyde": Integrity vs. Corruption
"A small flutter of integrity can resonate throughout the entire public sector."
The five-person, five-color musical organized by Uiryeong County in South Gyeongsang Province, centered on the theme of "integrity," is drawing attention.
On June 24, five musical actors visited Uiryeong County Office and delivered moving performances to around 200 civil servants, using a narrative structure and music that embodied the concept of integrity.

Uiryeong County is raising the "temperature of integrity" by moving away from repetitive and formal integrity initiatives and instead pursuing unique and easily understandable policies that reflect the local character. In the past, Uiryeong County has realized "Integrity Uiryeong" through creative ideas such as role-playing, parodies, quiz shows, and radio broadcasts. This time, the county presented a musical stage.
The "Rich Integrity Concert" held that day, under the theme "Integrity is Wealth," received an enthusiastic response.
In particular, the narrative structure that combined famous musical scenes with the theme of integrity was a highlight of the event.
The message that the small flutter of integrity can spark change throughout the public sector, just as a single butterfly changes the world in the musical "Story My Life," and the story in "Jekyll and Hyde" where a character struggles between good and evil and ultimately chooses integrity over corruption, resonated deeply with the audience.
The actors sang signature numbers from popular fairy tale-like musicals such as "Aladdin" and "Mozart"?including "A Whole New World" and "Golden Star"?in sweet melodies, wishing for a magical and radiant "Integrity Uiryeong."
The passionate performance of the actor portraying Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who famously declared, "Even the paulownia trees in the government office belong to the nation," when his superior, the Jeolla Left Naval Commander, wanted to cut them down to make a geomungo, left a strong impression. The theme song from the musical "Yi Sun-sin," "Burn Me," delved into the importance of the spirit of integrity.
Kim Sangyun, an officer in charge of planning and budgeting, said, "Experiencing integrity through five musicals was not only enjoyable but also made learning as easy as listening to a top-notch instructor."
On Tae-wan, the county governor, created a warm atmosphere by giving integrity-related quizzes to employees during the musical.
Going forward, Uiryeong County plans to continue the cheerful integrity series with programs such as a citizen-DJ integrity broadcast, an integrity golden bell quiz, and the production of an integrity jingle.
Meanwhile, Jeong Seungho, a lecturer from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's Integrity Training Center, followed the Rich Integrity Concert with a special lecture titled "Easy and Fun Anti-Corruption and Integrity."
