Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Korean War

The Eastern Gyeongnam Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, together with the NC Dinos, held a variety of events at Changwon NC Park to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Korean War and Patriots and Veterans Month.

During the event held on the afternoon of June 25, Kwon Youngdae, a Korean War veteran, performed a special first pitch, marking the start of the game to enthusiastic applause from the audience. After the pitch, the veteran greeted the spectators and expressed his feelings, saying, "Thank you for remembering the years I fought for our country."

Before the game, the Patriots and Veterans DAY experience booths were also operated. Various programs were offered for children and family visitors, including writing thank-you letters to national heroes, making patriotic sun caps, and applying tattoo stickers of 'Bobo,' the official character of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. There were also promotional activities for the 80th anniversary of Liberation and the "Patriots and Veterans for All" Dream Campaign, which received a great response.

In addition, during the game, an audience participation OX quiz event was held, providing a fun opportunity to learn about knowledge related to patriots and veterans affairs.

Kim Sangwoo, head of the regional office, said, "It was a meaningful occasion where young people and citizens could naturally reflect on the significance of national defense and remember the sacrifices of veterans in a familiar setting like a baseball stadium." He added, "We will continue to run programs with various groups to spread a culture of honoring patriots and veterans in everyday life."
