Five Sessions of Basic Gardening Theory Education for Korean Native Flower Research Association Members
Enhancing Garden Creation Skills Through Theory and Practice Until November
Goryeong County, led by Governor Lee Namcheol, will conduct a total of five sessions of "Basic Gardening Theory Education" at the Agricultural Education Center of the Goryeong County Agricultural Technology Center from June 25 to November 26.
This program is designed for 24 members of the Goryeong County Korean Native Flower Research Association, chaired by Lee Sunhee. It aims to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical training necessary for creating gardens in daily life. The goal is to go beyond traditional flower arrangement education and develop the ability to design gardens that reflect individual tastes and themes.
Prior to the start of the program, participants visited Suncheonman National Garden and the Seoul International Garden Expo in May to enhance their understanding and appreciation of gardens.
The first half of the program consists of three sessions. The first session, titled "The Concept and History of Gardens and Basics of Gardening," is taught by Kim Misuk, an instructor at the Agricultural Technology Center. The second and third sessions feature in-depth lectures by Kim Wonhee, a naturalistic garden design expert, focusing on planting composition, design points, and how to utilize garden design materials.
In November, participants will also have the opportunity to practice designing their own gardens.
Governor Lee Namcheol stated, "Through this basic gardening education, I hope that the culture of home gardening in Goryeong County will become more active, public understanding of gardening will increase, and both the urban landscape and landscaping standards will be enhanced."
