First K-pop Girl Group to Headline Main Stage

Aespa Headlines Morocco's "Mawazine Festival" aespa is performing as the headliner at the Mawazine Festival held in Rabat, Morocco, on the 24th (local time). SM Entertainment

SM Entertainment announced on June 26 that the group aespa became the first K-pop girl group to headline the Mawazine Festival held in Rabat, Morocco.


On the 24th (local time), aespa received an enthusiastic response from the local audience with a powerful performance and live band set on the festival's main stage, OLM SOUISSI.


During this performance, aespa presented a total of 11 songs, including their latest tracks such as "Supernova," "Armageddon," and "Whiplash," as well as their signature hits like "Next Level" and "Spicy." The setlist also featured "ænergy," "Set The Tone," "Flights, Not Feelings," "Live My Life," "Better Things," and "Hold On Tight."


The Mawazine Festival, which began in 2001, is one of the largest music festivals in the world. This year, in addition to aespa, artists such as Will Smith, 50 Cent, Becky G, and Lil Baby also performed on stage.


Previously, aespa has appeared at major global festivals including "Coachella," "The Governors Ball Music Festival," "GMA Summer Concert Series," "Outside Lands Festival" in the United States, and "GMO SONIC" in Japan.


Meanwhile, aespa is set to release their new single "Dirty Work" at 1 p.m. on June 27. The single will include a total of four tracks: the title track of the same name, a version featuring American rapper Flo Milli, an English version, and an instrumental version.
