The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is launching the 'Gyeonggi Youth Opportunity Travel Director Development Program' to provide young people in the province with opportunities to start businesses in the tourism sector and to establish a foundation for mutual growth with the local tourism industry. This year, a total of 50 teams will be selected, divided into general and advanced tracks.
The general track is open to residents of the province aged 19 to 39 who are either aspiring entrepreneurs or have started a business within the past three years. Applications are accepted for tourism items in a variety of fields, including tourism content, services, technology, products, and regionally specialized items.
The advanced track is for residents of the province aged 19 to 39 who have already started a business within the past five years. Participants are required to propose pilot project ideas aimed at revitalizing tourism utilizing the province's royal tombs, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
To provide practical startup support, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will offer general track participants opportunities such as: ▲ tourism startup academy training ▲ customized startup consulting ▲ participation in a tourism product contest, and a chance to receive a total of 28 million won in prize money and startup support funds.
