The headquarters has demanded legal action against a pizza shop that added an option on a delivery app stating that orders would not be accepted unless a tip was given. This shop was previously operated as a franchisee of the pizza brand "Pigupnam Pizza" until last year, but it is now reportedly running under a different name after the franchise contract ended.

On June 25, the Pigupnam Pizza franchise headquarters posted a notice on its official website, stating, "Many people have visited our website due to this controversy," and added, "First, we apologize for our franchise being mentioned at the center of this controversy."

The headquarters continued, "Upon investigation, it has been confirmed that this is not a Pigupnam Pizza franchisee," and explained, "There was a franchise contract from October 2022 to October 2024, but after that, the shop continued to use the same menu under a different name, which seems to have caused this misunderstanding."

The shop previously received criticism online after it was revealed that it had added options to its delivery app order page: "Thank you for the meal (click O) +2,000 won" and "I won't eat (if clicked, order not accepted)."

Online users commented, "I understand business is tough, but this is deceptive," and "If they are going to do business like this, they should just close down."

Meanwhile, Pigupnam Pizza has decided to pursue legal action, judging that the incident has damaged the headquarters' reputation.
