Ourhome Wins Contracts to Operate Mess Halls at Three Air Force Bases

First Success in Military Food Service Market After Joining Hanwha Group
Operating Mess Halls at Over 10 Army, Navy, and Air Force Bases Nationwide

Ourhome announced on June 26 that it had secured the rights to operate mess halls at the Air Force 15th Special Mission Wing, the 16th Fighter Wing, and the 18th Fighter Wing at the end of last month.

This achievement marks the company’s first success in the military food service market since joining Hanwha Group. It is reported that Ourhome received positive evaluations for its high-quality standards and menu offerings that reflect the latest trends.

An Ourhome representative stated, "Our long-standing expertise in group catering operations and our industry-leading production infrastructure were highly regarded," adding, "We plan to gradually expand our market presence by offering differentiated, customer-tailored services such as customizable buffet-style meals."

Ourhome currently operates mess halls at more than 10 Army, Navy, and Air Force bases nationwide. The company supplies around 50 of its own products, including soups, stews, and sauces, and also delivers food through the public procurement system, Nara Marketplace.

Given the large number of personnel concentrated in military units, experience in operating food services on a similar scale and a stable manufacturing infrastructure are essential. According to industry sources, the domestic military food service market is valued at approximately 2 trillion won. The Ministry of National Defense plans to open up food service contracts for 49 units to private companies within this year.

Going forward, Ourhome plans to provide on-site, customized services tailored to each unit’s needs, focusing on its military-exclusive food brand 'OHROKA.' The company will implement military-specialized operating systems, develop products exclusively for the military, and improve the efficiency of culinary staff.

An Ourhome representative emphasized, "Meals for service members are a key factor that can impact not only unit morale but also, in the long term, national defense capabilities, so we are putting significant effort into this area," adding, "We will continue to incorporate feedback from the field to further enhance service member satisfaction."
