The 'Gwanin1+ Center,' a key facility for the urban regeneration recognition project in Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, will break ground in June 2025.
The 'Gwanin1+ Center' will be built at 1000 Tandong-ri, Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon-si, with three floors above ground and a total floor area of 1,265 square meters. The facility will include a community space for residents, a senior health support center, a shared kitchen, and a cultural center. In addition, a 630-meter section of the 'Gwanin Happiness Road' will be constructed outside the center.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government expects that, upon completion of this project, residents will have easier access to a variety of everyday social overhead capital (SOC) facilities. The government also anticipates that community activities will strengthen communication and collaboration within the local community.
Kim Tae-su, head of the Urban Regeneration Division at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The Gwanin1+ Center will serve as an important turning point to revitalize Gwanin-myeon, which has been struggling with an aging population and a lack of infrastructure. The province will actively support the project to deliver tangible results that residents can truly feel."
