On June 25, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam held the '75th Anniversary Ceremony of the Korean War' in the main conference room of City Hall.
More than 300 people attended the ceremony, including Mayor Hong Taeyong, Gimhae City Council Chairman An Seonhwan, members of veterans' organizations such as war veterans and bereaved families, heads of institutions and organizations, military unit commanders, and citizens.

The attendees honored the courage and spirit of those who sacrificed for the country and reflected on the precious value of peace.
The event proceeded in the following order: the national ceremony, awarding of commendations to meritorious persons, commemorative address, words of encouragement, a recollection speech by Bae Daehan, head of the Gimhae branch of the Korean War Veterans Association, singing of the Korean War song, three cheers for Korea, and a commemorative performance.
In his commemorative address, Mayor Hong stated, "We will never forget that our current freedom, peace, and prosperity are thanks to the courage and sacrifice of the war veterans. We will not only remember the Korean War, but also carry on its spirit and properly convey the sacrifices of the veterans to future generations."
