During the on-site inspection, Shin Hyangsik, Chief of the Naju Fire Station, and Baek Youngsun and Ko Byungyun, the male and female heads of the Seji-myeon Volunteer Fire Brigade, accompanied him to review the overall progress of the construction, examine construction management, and discuss safety measures.

The construction of the Seji 119 Regional Unit was made possible after Councilor Choi collected concerns from local firefighters and residents and continuously appealed to the Jeonnam Provincial Government for the necessity of the project.
This project, with a total budget of 1.26 billion KRW, is being developed as a two-story building with a total floor area of 357.7 square meters, aiming for completion in October. Seji-myeon is a major agricultural area, producing about 60% of the nation's melons, and is also home to cultural heritage sites such as the Songjeri Five-story Stone Pagoda and Byeokryujeong.
Recently, due to the development of Naju Innovation City, traffic volume and demand for rescue and emergency services have increased. However, the area is far from existing fire stations and has consistently been pointed out as a fire safety blind spot.
Councilor Choi stated, "With summer approaching, we must thoroughly prepare for damages caused by localized heavy rains and sudden weather changes." He urged, "Please make safety the top priority throughout the entire construction process and do your utmost to ensure flawless construction management."
He added, "I will continue to provide policy support to expand firefighting infrastructure and strengthen disaster response capabilities," and "I will do my best to create a safe local community where residents can live with peace of mind."
