Seongjung Kim, First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The freedom, peace, and remarkable economic development we enjoy today were never simply given to us; they were built upon the noble sacrifices of countless heroes. We will continue to prioritize the lives and safety of our residents and move forward unwaveringly until the day we achieve a peacefully unified Korean Peninsula, so that the tragedy of war is never repeated on this land."

Earlier, on June 23, Governor Dongyeon Kim invited the heads of 13 provincial veterans' organizations to Dodamso in recognition of Patriots and Veterans Month. He emphasized, "It is extremely important to set history right and to show respect, honor, and courtesy to veterans' families, and Gyeonggi Province is making every effort to excel in these areas."
