Coast Guard Investigating Cause of Accident
Through CCTV Analysis and On-Site Inspection
At around 6:11 a.m. on June 25, a 1.5-ton truck fell into the sea near the pier at Gahak-ri Port in Soan-myeon, Wando County, Jeollanam-do, resulting in the death of the driver, a man in his 30s.
After receiving a report, a rescue team from the Wando Coast Guard was dispatched to the scene and recovered the driver, Mr. A (in his 30s), from the water about 3 meters from the vehicle. However, he was already deceased.

The Coast Guard is currently investigating the exact cause of the accident by conducting an on-site inspection and analyzing nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.
A Coast Guard official stated, "We are currently investigating the exact circumstances under which the vehicle fell into the sea," adding, "We are checking the overall situation, including whether alcohol was involved."
Meanwhile, it was reported that the fallen vehicle, a 1.5-ton truck, was lifted onto land by a village resident using a crane.
