Introduction of In-House Knowledge-Based AI Chatbot 'Lucid'
Enhancing Data-Driven Decision-Making and Work Quality
Expansion Planned from Office Operations to Smart Factory
On June 25, L&F announced that it will embark on a full-scale digital transformation by implementing a company-wide generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform developed in-house. This adoption of AI is a core strategy aimed at maximizing employee productivity and strengthening organizational competitiveness through innovation in business processes.
L&F's proprietary generative AI chatbot, 'Lucid,' is an intelligent work support system that learns from internal knowledge data to provide customized answers to employees. The company expects this system to drastically reduce the time required for information retrieval and utilization, significantly enhance knowledge sharing by facilitating interdepartmental collaboration, and shorten onboarding periods for new hires. In particular, by automating repetitive and simple tasks, the company aims to create an environment where employees can focus on core duties and decision-making.
L&F has established a four-stage innovation strategy consisting of: ▲ AI status analysis and strategy formulation ▲ AI insight (AI competency enhancement) ▲ AI integration (AI implementation and company-wide platform establishment) ▲ AI advancement. Through this systematic approach to AI adoption and utilization, the company is building a data-driven decision-making framework and achieving tangible results in the workplace, such as improved quality and reduced errors.
To strengthen employees' AI utilization capabilities, L&F also operates a 'generative AI-based literacy and work automation training program.' The company plans to provide hands-on, practice-oriented training tailored to the characteristics of each department's work, as well as opportunities to share best use cases, enabling employees to rapidly acquire AI skills and immediately apply them to their tasks.
Additionally, L&F plans to expand the application of generative AI technology beyond office work to the smart factory sector. By utilizing trained AI specialists, the company aims to address repetitive tasks and improvement projects, secure technological self-sufficiency in AI, and lead digital innovation. Ultimately, L&F's goal is to build an agentic AI platform for a data-driven decision-making and automation-integrated AX (Advanced eXperience) transformation.
Kim Donghwan, head of L&F's IT Operations Team, stated, "In the rapidly changing secondary battery market environment, generative AI technology is a key factor that determines a company's future competitiveness. By developing our own AI solutions, we are ensuring security and specialized features, and we will expand AI applications across all areas, including manufacturing, R&D, and quality management, to further strengthen our technological leadership in the global battery materials market."
