Ulsan City is holding a commemorative event to honor the sacrifices of Korean War veterans on the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the 6·25 War, once again emphasizing the value of remembrance and national merit.

On June 25, at 10:00 a.m., the city will solemnly hold the 75th anniversary ceremony of the 6·25 War in the main auditorium on the second floor of Ulsan City Hall, under the theme, "A Nation Protected by Heroes, a Republic of Korea to Carry Forward."

The event will be attended by Mayor Kim Dukyum, City Council Chairman Lee Seongryong, local members of the National Assembly, the commander of Army Brigade 7765, the head of the Ulsan University ROTC, the head of the Ulsan Veterans Affairs Office, 6·25 War veterans and their families, and citizens?totaling around 500 people?to honor the patriotic spirits and express gratitude for the sacrifices of the veterans.

The ceremony will include a dedication musical performance themed on the "Four Brothers of National Merit," a floral tribute to the fallen, commendations for meritorious individuals, a reading of a 6·25 War recollection, and the singing of the "Song of 6·25."

In particular, the original musical "Sacred Brothers," performed on this day, is based on the true story of four brothers from Ulsan?Lee Minkun, Lee Taekun, Lee Youngkun, and Lee Seungkun?who were recognized for their national merit. The performance is expected to deeply resonate with both the veteran generation and citizens.

On this day, six people, including veteran Lee Chaedeuk, will receive the Ulsan Mayor's Commendation for "Patriotic Veterans' Contribution to Municipal Development."

They are being recognized for their contributions to fostering patriotism and advancing the local community, making this a meaningful occasion to reaffirm the pride and honor of the veterans.

Mayor Kim Dukyum stated, "I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to the 121,879 patriotic spirits who never returned from the battlefield, and to all veterans who dedicated themselves to the nation," adding, "Today's Republic of Korea and Ulsan are possible because of their noble sacrifices. Ulsan City will do its utmost to ensure that everyone who served the nation can feel pride, and we will remain a city that remembers their noble intentions for a long time to come."

In recognition of June as "Month of Patriots and Veterans," Ulsan City is expressing gratitude and honoring national merit by providing consolation payments of 50,000 won per person to 9,971 national veterans and bereaved families in the region.
