Rising Byung-Hun An Aims for First Victory

Another Challenge for First PGA Tour Victory at the Rocket Classic
Sixth Place at Canadian Open, Fourteenth at Travelers Championship
Fifty-Seventh in FedEx Cup Standings, Securing Advantage for Playoffs

Byung-Hun An is once again challenging for victory.

The battleground will be the Rocket Classic on the PGA Tour (total prize money of $9.6 million), which tees off on June 26 (local time) at Detroit Golf Club (par 72, 7,370 yards) in Detroit, Michigan, United States. This year, the PGA Tour wrapped up all of its scheduled Signature Events with last week's Travelers Championship. The Signature Events, held eight times per season, are top-tier tournaments with a total prize pool of $20 million and are ranked just below the four major championships.

Of the four major championships, only The Open remains, which will be held in July. Since the FedEx Cup Playoffs (PO) begin in August based on the regular season results through the end of July, the 2025 PGA Tour season is now entering its final stretch. Korean players Byung-Hun An, Kim Siwoo, and Kim Joohyung will compete in the Rocket Classic, which was known as the Rocket Mortgage Classic until last year.

Byung-Hun An, currently ranked 57th in the FedEx Cup standings, is showing a clear upward trend. He tied for sixth at the RBC Canadian Open and finished tied for 14th at the Travelers Championship. In particular, during the final fourth round of the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, he delivered a flawless performance with three birdies and no bogeys. This year, he has played in 18 tournaments, recording two top-10 finishes and six top-25 finishes. With his recent steady play, expectations are rising for his first PGA Tour victory.
