Gyeonggi Province held a 'New Trade Briefing Session on Entering the Middle Eastern Market' for export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises in the province at the Seongnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 24th.
The briefing session focused on providing practical solutions for targeting the Middle Eastern market, including the latest distribution trends and consumer patterns in the region, strategies for market entry utilizing free trade agreements (FTAs), cases of product localization, and digital-based marketing know-how.
In the first session, Kim Hojin, Director at Elpis Corporation and an expert on the Middle Eastern market, provided a detailed analysis of changes in major distribution channels in key Middle Eastern countries, local consumer tendencies and demand trends, and consumption characteristics based on culture and religion. He also explained the risks and opportunities that companies need to prepare for in advance.
The second session covered practical topics such as methods for utilizing the Korea-UAE and Korea-GCC FTAs, success cases by brand (food, beauty, fashion), product positioning strategies for localization, and marketing strategies based on online platforms and social networking services (SNS), as well as promotional strategies using FTAs.
