Ms. A was indicted for slapping Mr. B six times and dropping his mobile phone on the ground, causing it to break, after an argument over hailing a taxi on a street in Daegu in the early morning hours of October 3, 2023. She is known for appearing on the reality dating show "I Am Solo," which airs on SBS Plus and ENA.
The court stated, "The defendant has admitted to all charges and is reflecting on her actions. It appears that the offense was committed somewhat impulsively under the influence of alcohol. However, the nature of the crime is serious, there was no settlement with the victim, and the defendant has a prior criminal record for a similar assault offense. All these factors were taken into consideration."
At the sentencing hearing held on June 12, Ms. A admitted to the charges and expressed remorse, but also claimed, "Although there is no recording, Mr. B made sexually explicit remarks first." In response, the prosecution requested a six-month prison sentence for Ms. A.
Meanwhile, Ms. A is also under police investigation on suspicion of selling counterfeit goods as luxury items at a charity auction event she hosted.
