The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eunhee) held the launch ceremony for the '2025 Daegu Future Education Policy Planning Group' at 4:00 p.m. on June 23 in the main conference room of the Office of Education.
The 'Policy Planning Group' serves as a key body for establishing mid- to long-term policies for the future of education in Daegu. Under the theme of 'Change Made Together, Sustainable Future Education in Daegu,' the group will seek directions for sustainable future education in Daegu through change and innovation.
After the launch of the Daegu Future Education Policy Planning Group, the participating figures are taking a commemorative photo.
This year, the group consists of 48 internal and external experts by school level and field. It operates six subcommittees: Planning and General Affairs, Kindergarten and Special Schools, Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools, and General Administration.
The main operational guidelines include: establishing mid- to long-term education policy agendas and refining related education policies by exploring the direction of future education in Daegu; forming subcommittees based on school level to ensure field-oriented policy planning and considering balance in age and gender among members; gathering opinions through preliminary perception surveys of the educational community, including students, parents, and teachers; and identifying education policy agendas based on these findings.
In particular, this year, a separate 'Performance Analysis Committee' will be established to objectively assess and systematically analyze various policies and outcomes related to future competency education in Daegu.
Jung Byungwoo (Principal of Yongcheon Elementary School), head of the Policy Planning Group, stated, "The deliberations and discussions of the Policy Planning Group on education will become a milestone for education in Daegu. We are committed to collecting the diverse needs of the educational community and leveraging field expertise to find a sustainable path for the future of education in Daegu."
Kang Eunhee, Superintendent of Daegu, said, "It is more important than ever to consider the growth of students who will face a rapidly changing future society and the role of schools in supporting them. At this critical juncture, the Policy Planning Group will accelerate the development of field-oriented education policies that are more organically connected to the specific situations and contexts of each school level."
