Children of Retiring Buyeo County Director Donate to Hometown Love Program: "Honoring Father's Devotion to the Community"

As Seo Jangwon, Director of the Department of Autonomous Administration at Buyeo County Office in South Chungcheong Province, retires after many years of public service, his two daughters and sons-in-law have set an inspiring example for the local community by making a heartfelt donation to their hometown of Buyeo.

According to Buyeo County on June 24, Seo’s two daughters, Seo Jangmi and Seo Yuri, along with their husbands, Park Youngjun and Lee Yoonsu, donated a total of 2 million won to the Buyeo Hometown Love Donation Program on June 23. This meaningful gesture reflects the family's deep respect for their retiring father and their affection for their hometown.

Seo Jangmi said, "My father is retiring, and he has always had a deep affection for Buyeo County. Our entire family wanted to honor that sentiment together, so we decided to participate in the Hometown Love Donation Program."

Seo Jangwon has quietly devoted himself at the heart of Buyeo County administration, serving in key positions such as Head of the Audit Team, Director of Agricultural Policy, and Director of Autonomous Administration.

His public service career, particularly his contributions to the development of agriculture and local autonomy, is highly regarded within the community.

Park Junghyun, County Governor, stated, "I deeply thank Director Seo Jangwon for his many years of dedication to county administration, and it is especially meaningful that his family has also shared their love for their hometown, Buyeo. The donation will be used as a valuable resource for local welfare and development."

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won per year to a local government outside their registered address. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully eligible for tax credits, and donors can also receive local specialty products as gifts in return.
