Donald Trump, President of the United States, said on the 23rd (local time) that the ceasefire announced between Israel and Iran through his mediation will "last forever."
In a phone interview with NBC on the same day, President Trump was asked how long the ceasefire would last. He replied, "I think it is unlimited," making this statement.
He declared that the war between Israel and Iran has been completely ended, adding, "I do not believe the two countries will ever point their guns at each other again."
President Trump pointed out, "A lot of people were dying, and the situation was only getting worse," and said, "It was something that could have led to the collapse of the entire Middle East."
He went on to say about the ceasefire agreement, "It is a great day for the world. It is a great day for the United States and a great day for the Middle East," adding, "I am very pleased to have been able to accomplish this."
