Suwon City to Conduct Human Rights Survey of Collaborative Institutions Including Funded Agencies

Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct the "Second Human Rights Violation Survey of Collaborative Institutions" targeting executives and employees of public enterprises, funded and commissioned organizations, and auxiliary agencies in July and August.

The survey targets include Suwon Urban Corporation, Suwon Institute of Policy Studies, Suwon Urban Foundation, Suwon Cultural Foundation, Suwon Convention Center, Suwon Youth and Young Adult Foundation, Suwon FC, Suwon Center for International Cooperation, and Suwon Scholarship Foundation. Auxiliary agencies such as Suwon Sports Council, Suwon Sports Council for the Disabled, Suwon Volunteer Center, and Suwon Community Social Security Council are also included in the survey.

In line with the "Comprehensive Plan for Human Rights Violation Surveys" established in 2021, Suwon City has been conducting human rights surveys every three years across the public sector. The first survey was conducted in 2022, targeting public enterprises and funded and commissioned organizations.

The second survey will expand its scope to include auxiliary agencies, with the aim of diagnosing the overall human rights situation across all collaborative institutions.

The survey will be conducted by a professional research agency through one-on-one interviews. Anonymity will be guaranteed, and the principle of preventing any disadvantage will be strictly observed.

Those who testify to having experienced harm will be provided with in-depth counseling if necessary, and if any violations are confirmed, remedial procedures will be initiated.

An official from Suwon City stated, "We will thoroughly analyze the patterns and structure of human rights violations within Suwon City's collaborative institutions to use as a basis for institutional improvements," adding, "We will value every opinion and ensure that meaningful changes are made."
