Crackdown on Illegal Occupation, Cooking, and Harvesting of Forest Products in Mountain Valleys
"Strict Measures After Guidance"

Uljugun in Ulsan will launch a special crackdown on illegal activities in forest areas from July 1 to the end of August 2025.

This measure is being implemented to prevent illegal activities as the number of visitors to mountain valleys increases during the peak summer vacation season.

The crackdown will be carried out by on-site inspection teams consisting of special forest police officers and public officials, following the principle of "guidance first, enforcement later." In the event of illegal activities, strict legal responsibility will be imposed, including fines or criminal prosecution. If necessary, joint crackdowns with the Korea Forest Service will also be conducted.

The main targets of this special crackdown include: ▲ installation of illegal facilities and commercial activities in mountain valleys; ▲ fire hazards such as cooking or smoking; ▲ illegal harvesting of forest products; and ▲ acts that pollute the forest, such as littering.

Uljugun stated that it will respond strictly to any violations detected in accordance with the Forest Protection Act and other relevant laws.

The county also plans to actively promote the fact that illegal activities can be reported and forest disaster information can be provided through the Korea Forest Service's "Smart Forest Disaster App."

An Uljugun official said, "Along with the crackdown, we will also actively promote forest protection and voluntary cleanup activities," and added, "We ask for the active interest and cooperation of residents to protect our valuable forest environment."
